Deadiverse (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “the site”) is an independent fan site and community for the Grateful Dead and the wider Deadiverse of musicians, bands, shows, songs, and fans. Deadiverse.com is not the official website of the Grateful Dead and is not operated by or affiliated with the Grateful Dead or its members.
This page explains in plain language what information Deadiverse may collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. We do not sell your personal information.
What This Site Is
Deadiverse is a fan-built archive and community featuring information about the Grateful Dead, related bands, musicians, songs, live shows, venues, and the continuing history of the music.
You can browse most of the site without creating an account. Some features—including personalized favorites, show attendance tracking, comments, contributions, and other community features—require an account.
Community Guidelines
Deadiverse is also a community. By creating an account or contributing content, you agree to participate respectfully and follow our Community Guidelines.
Those guidelines explain how we handle harassment, spam, misleading information, copyright concerns, inappropriate content, and other behavior that can negatively affect the community.
Information You Provide
Depending on how you use the site, you may provide information such as:
- Your username and email address when creating an account
- Profile information you choose to provide
- Comments and other public contributions
- Favorite songs, shows, bands, musicians, or other content
- Shows you mark as attended
- Setlists, annotations, notes, photographs, recordings, or other contributions you submit

If you create a Deadiverse account, information associated with that account is used to provide the member features you choose to use.
Your public profile and public contributions may be visible to other members or visitors depending on the feature. Private account information, such as your login credentials and account email address, is not intentionally displayed publicly simply because you have an account.
Never share your password with another person.
Third-Party Services
Deadiverse may use third-party services to provide hosting, security, performance, analytics, advertising, media embeds, email delivery, social sharing, or other website functionality.
Those providers may process certain information as necessary to provide their services. Their own privacy policies govern information they collect or process directly.
Links and Embedded Content
Deadiverse contains links to and may embed content from other websites and services, including music services, video platforms, ticketing sites, social networks, recording archives, and other resources.
When you leave Deadiverse or interact directly with an embedded third-party service, that service’s own privacy policy and terms apply. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.
Advertising
Deadiverse may display advertising from third-party advertising services to help offset the costs of hosting, maintaining, and developing the site. Advertising is only enabled for public viewers, if you don’t want to see the ads, consider creating an account on the site.
When advertising is enabled, the advertising provider may use cookies or similar technologies and may process information about visits to this and other websites according to its own policies and applicable choices or controls.
We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
Affiliate Links
Deadiverse may occasionally use affiliate links to help offset the costs of operating the site. If you make a qualifying purchase through an affiliate link, the site may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate relationships do not change the price you pay, and we do not sell your personal information to affiliate partners.
Social Media
Deadiverse may maintain accounts on social media platforms and may publish links to new or updated site content there.
Using those platforms is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Information you provide directly to a social media platform is governed by that platform rather than this policy.
How Long We Keep Information
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the site’s services, maintain the archive, protect the site’s security, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or otherwise fulfill the purposes described in this policy.
For example, public contributions may remain part of the historical archive even if the member who submitted them later closes their account, unless there is a reason to remove the contribution. Technical and security logs may be retained for a limited period or longer when needed for security or legal purposes.
Your Choices
You can choose not to create an account and browse the public portions of Deadiverse without becoming a member.
If you have an account, you can update information available through your account settings and may delete your account where that functionality is provided.
If you have submitted a comment or other contribution and would like it removed, you can contact us. We will consider reasonable removal requests, subject to the needs of the archive, technical limitations, legal obligations, and the rights of other users.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may prevent certain account or site features from working properly.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we maintain, including maintaining the site’s software and infrastructure and using security measures appropriate to the nature of the information.
No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password for your Deadiverse account and don’t share it with anyone else.
Children
Deadiverse is not directed toward children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to the site, please contact us so that we can review the situation and take appropriate action.
Visitors Outside the United States
Deadiverse is operated from the United States. If you access the site from another country, information you provide or that is collected through the site may be processed in the United States or in other countries where our service providers operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as Deadiverse grows, its features change, or legal requirements change.
The current version will always be posted on this page. If we make a significant change, we may also provide additional notice where appropriate.
