Los Angeles-based Grateful Shred formed in 2016 as an accidental, casual side project when singer and guitarist Austin McCutchen needed a fill-in band for a residency at The Griffin in Atwater Village and drafted some local friends. Starting with a circle of friends operating out of Dan Horne’s “Liberty Hair Farm” studio, the band gained viral fame in 2017 with their “Busted at the Bowl” impromptu Hollywood Bowl parking lot performance. They grew into a national touring act known for their harmony-driven style and released their debut studio album, Might As Well, in June 2025.
